The Latvian Television building is 22-storey building built during 1979-1986 in island Zakusala by the design of architects of A.Purvins, V. Kadirkov and B. Maike for the needs of Latvian Television and its first live broadcast was the Soviet song concert “Microphone 86”.
Interesting fact: there was also a plan to build the Radio Tower and a hotel for up to 400 guests that still remains unfulfilled.
