Restaurant “Rozengrals” does a brilliant job in recreating a medieval atmosphere in its large underground cellar, which looks like some ancient banquet-hall surrounded by lit up candles. It is one of the few medieval themed restaurants in Riga.
According to their website, the space itself is mentioned in manuscripts dating back to the 12th century, and every detail, including the chains with which you pull open the bathroom doors, reflect Riga historical side and charm.
The food is very tasty and not that much overpriced, even though this is a very much touristic place. To add more medieval theme and magic all waiters in the Restaurant are wearing clothes of that century, as well as the person on the door wearing a beautiful medieval costume, who be the one inviting you in.
This place will be also fantastic if you have a large group of friends with you – there is plenty of place for everybody to sit down, and feel themselves back in time!
