Moscow Tank Museum Kubinka

Moscow Tank Museum in Kubinka (official name: the Military-Historical Museum of Armoured Vehicles in Kubinka) is located in the suburban town of Kubinka and is one of the largest tank museums in the world, where you can see armoured vehicles of different types and historical periods.

The official date of foundation of the museum in Kubinka considered 1938, although it became open to the public only in 1972.

Exhibits

In Kubinka you will be able see and explore various tanks, which you can easily recall from the many war films of the second half of the twentieth century: WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars, war in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as various Soviet tanks. None of these armed conflicts could be made without these tanks.

But the most interesting in Kubinka Pavilion are German tanks, where in addition to quite ordinary “Tigers” and “Panthers” you can see some quite unusual machines such as a minefields destruction machine, that has two large wheels with the armoured “feet” on each side. This type of foot is used to activate the mines, but a piece of armour could withstand an explosion. At the end of the museum pavilion you can find an unusual grandiose self-propelled gun and tank called “Mouse”, that is the size of a small boat.

Format

Upon arrival at the tank museum in Kubinka, you will see more than 300 samples of armoured vehicles from 14 countries, and our guides will tell you about the most interesting exhibits of the Tank Museum, including the unique tanks of the First World War, such as English famous tank MK-V and the French light tank Renault FT-17, the world-famous “Tiger” tanks and tank the destroyer “Ferdinand”, armoured vehicles of the Russian army in service with: BTR-80, BMP-3 BMD-3, T-80, as well as copies, which have no analogues in the world: Soviet tank T-35, a German super-heavy tank “Maus” of 180 tons, 600-mm self-propelled gun “Adam” and many more.
