Moscow Falconry Experience

The “Living” Museum of Falconry of All Time and Peoples is a real oasis of revival of the ancient art of hunting with a hunting bird. We invite you to enjoy the romance of the steppe winds and distant wanderings and plunge into the magical world of falconry of the nomadic peoples of Central and Central Asia.

About the tour

In a colorful ethnic setting of a real Mongolian yurt, with stuffed animals and skins on the walls, with a collection of hoods, gloves, bells and a variety of wonderful falconry devices from Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, you will make a lot of amazing discoveries.

During the tour you will learn and understand:

  • Why for centuries people worshiped the beauty and nobleness of hunting birds
  • Why falconry is called the highest level of hunting art and even (!) A way of improving a person
  • Which bird was the totem of Genghis Khan
  • Why the Great Mongol called falconry a “sister of war”
  • Discover the meaning of the secret rituals of the falconers of the Great Steppe

Full historical authenticity and a special ethnic flavor will give the present a Mongolian tea party in the yurt. Brave people will be able to taste real Mongolian steppe tea from the fire – with milk, salt and fat! (Those not risking such a gastronomic test will be offered more familiar tea).

A fascinating historical and ethnic excursion will continue with an introduction to the feathered and four-legged inhabitants of the Falcon yard. Here live the most powerful, fast-moving, intelligent and beautiful representatives of the feathered kingdom.

Near, without cells, you will admire graceful fast falcons, a real eagle, eagles, and hawks, “get to know” with a long-eared owl and a large eagle owl.

Here, on the kennels, there live (and work) real hounds, and in the stables (what kind of falconry without fast-moving horses) – beautiful horses. You will admire the thin-legged horses and faithful companions of the hunter, thoroughbred hounds. Close, contact communication with wildlife is such a rarity these days!

The culmination of our incredible excursion is the “falconry hunting of the Great Steppe nomads”, during which you can observe the training of the real eagle! You will be able to hold on your hand the cleverest hunting bird and treat it, you can feel your “kinship” with the winged helper of man and see how a powerful bird obediently fulfills your commands!

A fascinating photo session with a real eagle is a constant delight and will give you a lot of incredible photo and video.
