The Gallery/Shop and Coffee place, “Istaba” (The Room) is one of the funkiest cafes in Riga. It is a nice art gallery on the ground floor, and a little coffee shop with fantastic kitchen upstairs.
“Istaba” is a perfect place for a quick lunch or a coffee with friends. They also serve dinners during Tuesdays – Saturdays from 18:00 till 23:00.
In the gallery you can look through various hand-made paintings and accessories by independent Latvian artists. The gallery is open from 12:00 till 20:00 and has various monthly exhibitions, however it is closed on Sundays. The cafe upstairs is open until 23:00.
The menu is simple but offers really tasty stuff, starting from soups, salads and other light lunch options.
