You can never get enough of Italian restaurants and cuisine, but Monterosso on Vaļņu street is a special one. It was the first to offer an authentic Italian cuisine of Apennine region in the capital of Latvia . Today it is one of the most fashionable gastronomic places of Riga, with an excellent menu, personal attention to guests, Latvian Art Deco interior and the refined atmosphere of artistic salon.

In the past, the restaurant building belonged to the House of Artists, where intellectuals and intelligentsia was gathering to celebrate awards and spend a hard earned cash during the reign of social realism, hence the style and interior design of the restaurant. Today their place is taken by the business and political elite.
